These are the swoon-worthy K-Drama I have rewatched many times. Whenever I can’t find any new K-Drama swoon-worthy enough to suit my taste, I always go back to these.
What makes these K-Dramas swoon-worthy is how these couples love each other. They have a deep romantic connection that shows in how they are to each other. The male leads are devoted and faithful and have eyes only for the female leads. The female leads are smart, strong, kind, and likable.
I’ve arranged these K-Dramas from least to most rewatched, so the last one is the K-Drama I’ve rewatched the most number of times.
So here they are: my most rewatched swoon-worthy K-Drama.
Sungkyunkwan Scandal (2010)
Synopsis
A girl from a poor family poses as a boy to enter the prestigious all-male school Sungkyunkwan. There she meets a brilliant boy from a well-off family and they fall in love with each other. The problem, though, is that he still thinks she’s a boy.
What I Loved
The romance in this drama is a slow burn, but it had so much romantic tension before they became a couple that you’d be far from bored. The little glances, fleeting touches, and cute moments they share as they’re slowly falling in love would give you the butterflies. The happy ending in this swoon-worthy K-Drama is beautiful, funny and unique.
Sungkyunkwan Scandal isn’t wholly a romance drama. It has suspense, action, and other aspects, too. As a whole, it’s an excellent drama with a good plot, characterization, music, and acting.
7th Grade Civil Servant (2013)
Synopsis
Girl goes on an arranged date as a proxy for her friend with Boy. The date went awry, but then they meet again as undercover agent trainees. Sparks fly, but they lost contact with each other. Comes the present time when girl who’s now an undercover secret agent investigates boy’s company.
What I Loved
I loved the way the male lead loved the female lead. He was caring, thoughtful, sweet and so into her. Their interaction with each other was natural, so you can somehow believe they’re a couple in love.
I also liked the fun and happy vibe this show had going, which made it an easy, feel-good watch.
Something About 1% (2016)
Synopsis
Girl and boy enter into a fake dating relationship, so boy won’t fall out of favor with his grandfather. Fake turns into something real as they continue spending time with each other.
What I Loved
The male lead was sweet and devoted to the female lead. I loved how he had eyes only for her and didn’t give attention to the other girl who was after him. I also loved how close this couple was to each other and how levelheaded they are. They talked things out and resolved their problems in calm, reasonable ways.
I loved how feel-good this drama was. It mainly focused on the romance of the leads, without the tedious issues that can usually be seen in most other dramas.
Also, this swoon-worthy K-Drama showed us their life after the wedding, which made for one super satisfying ending.
Marriage, Not Dating (2014)
Synopsis
In order to thwart boy’s parents’ matchmaking endeavors, he enlists the help of girl to pose as his fiancée. Complications ensue as the fake turns into something real.
What I Loved
The premise of this drama may be so common that it has become such a cliché, but its execution is fresh and funny. It was unpredictable and engaging all throughout.
The leads have unique characterizations, especially the female lead. She was feisty with a heart, strong, and funny. I loved her character and I loved the way the actress who played the role gave life to that character.
I loved the way this couple slowly fell in love. It was believable and heartfelt. Seeing them finally together was worth the wait as their chemistry has been just amazing.
Fated to Love You (2014)
Synopsis
An accidental night of passion results in girl getting pregnant, so boy had to marry her. It’s a roller coaster ride from then on, with laughter mixed with heartaches for both of them before they reach their happily ever after.
What I Loved
This is a hard-hitting drama, but it was worth the ride because at the center of it all is a beautiful love story.
I liked how boy at first didn’t like girl because he had a girlfriend when they first met, but then had a complete turnaround later in the series because he became so in love with her.
The actor who played the male lead portrayed his role excellently because you can actually feel the emotions he was going through. I loved their sweet moments and the beautiful happy ending.
This drama didn’t have villains; no disapproving in-laws or evil third parties. There were third parties, yes, but they weren’t bad. That was like a breath of fresh air in a melodrama.
High School King of Savvy (2014)
Synopsis
A senior high school hockey player assumes the identity of his older brother as an office executive. There he meets girl, one of the office assistants. He falls in love with her and there the deception starts to create problems for him.
What I Loved
This is a lovely, feel-good, swoon-worthy K-Drama. Actor Seo In-guk gave justice to his role: he was so believable as a boy in love. The way he stared and treated the female lead was swoon-worthy.
I loved their fun, sweet, supportive relationship, too. Theirs was an older woman-younger man relationship, but they made it work because they made allowances for each other.
Other things I loved:
- the way they came together, especially their official first kiss;
- that scene where she forgave him;
- the way they would banter and brush off people’s misconceptions about them;
- the soundtrack. Seo In Guk sang a beautiful song for this drama;
- and last but not least, I loved the beautiful, beautiful, sweet and heartfelt ending. One of my favorite endings because it felt real and something like a real couple would do.

Wang’s Family (2013)
Synopsis
A teacher and a construction businessman fall in love, but meet opposition from each other’s parents for many reasons. The two fight for their love.
What I Loved
I loved this couple’s chemistry and courtship. The latter was fun, funny and swoon-worthy. The way he would look at her and the playful sounds they would make before they kiss were so adorable. They had many cute and sweet moments together, as well as a few angsty ones that just solidified their love. I loved how they fought for their love and how the story spans from their first meeting to their married life.
Wang’s Family is actually a lengthy family drama that involves many mini-plots and several characters with their own stories, but this couple’s story is what made me brave through its 50 episodes. Their love story by itself is, in fact, worthy of a separate drama because it was excellently plotted.
The Heirs (2013)
Synopsis
Boy is rich, while girl is poor and is in fact the daughter of the boy’s family’s housemaid. They accidentally met abroad, not knowing who the other is, and felt attracted to each other. Nothing came out of that encounter, though, as they went their separate ways. When they came back home, they meet again, only to find out that theirs was a forbidden love.
What I Loved
I loved the unwavering love of the male lead towards the female lead. I loved the steadfastness of that love despite opposition. It was so swoon-worthy to see him fall for her and do everything he can to fight for that love. Actor Lee Min Ho did justice to the role as you can truly feel how he was so into her.
Grand Prince (2018)
Synopsis
A prince and a noble lady fell in love, but that love was tested by a covetous brother, a long separation, and political turmoil that forced them to fight side by side.
What I Loved
I loved this power couple. They were attracted to each other from the start and so close and so in love and those showed in the ways they cared for each other. The way they fought side by side for the country and for their love showed how in sync they were.
Other things I loved:
- their second meeting, which was heart-pounding and sexy;
- their good old-fashioned courtship that involved sending letters;
- the confession scene which involved the male lead performing in a play;
- the girl’s character. She was bold, could carry her own, and was no damsel in distress.
- the ending, because it was a very satisfying happy ending where we get to see them live their married life and have adorable kids.
City Hall (2009)
Synopsis
A small town city hall clerk rises up through the ranks and falls in love with a powerful politician while going through opposition from detractors.
What I Loved
I loved everything about this drama: the plot, romance, acting, music. The plot is solid, the writing is smart, the characterization is perfect, and the romance is top-notch.
The main leads had amazing chemistry and it helped a lot too that the actors who played them brought their A-game here. Their acting was amazing such that you can actually laugh with them and feel their pain during sad moments.
This is an older K-Drama, but it’s one of the best there is and still incomparable to other newer dramas.
King2Hearts (2012)
Synopsis
The Crown Prince of South Korea falls in love with a Northern Korean Special Forces officer. This couple and their love go, and grow, through challenges and trials.
What I Loved
Apart from the lovely yet heart-tugging romance, there is intrigue, suspense, and action in this drama. Every episode in the series has something exciting going on and nothing dragged, so there was never any dull moment.
The romance was also exciting, and lovely. They were a power couple who complemented what each other lacked, fought side by side, and protected each other. Their dynamics were incredible.
I loved that you can witness how they fell in love with the way they looked at, and acted with, each other. Those scenes were swoon-worthy.
I loved the beautiful proposal scene, the words the male lead said to the female lead, which would melt anyone’s heart.
Love in the Moonlight (2016)
Synopsis
A girl who’s been pretending to be a boy her whole life finds herself inadvertently working in the palace as a eunuch for the Crown Prince. Problems arise when she and the prince fall in love with each other, and they realize she’s a threat to national security.
What I Loved
The romance is wonderful. The male lead loved the female lead even when he thought she was a boy and was all ready to confess to her in spite of it. I liked how you can see how he fell in love with her through some swoon-worthy scenes. I loved the confession scene which was deep and heartfelt. He was cold to other women, but so tender to the female lead. And he believed in her and protected her.
This is a great, well-produced drama.
Secret Garden (2010)
Synopsis
A rich, arrogant and elitist CEO falls in love with a poor, humble and kind stuntwoman. Their love would go through body switching, self-discovery, personality growth and heartaches.
What I Loved
This drama is pretty much perfect: tight plot, well-written script, character growth, excellent acting, moving music, etc. It’s funny when needed and sad when it had to be.
The romance is moving that it would put you through a lot of emotions. It’s swoon-worthy too with a male lead who chased, and fell in love with, the female lead despite all oppositions. He was not perfect, but he sure knows how to love a lady right. That’s the thing that makes this drama such a delight to watch.
The happy and very satisfying ending for the main leads was cute, heartwarming and unique. One of the best endings I’ve seen in any swoon-worthy K-Drama.
Coffee Prince (2007)
Synopsis
To get a job and support her family, girl poses as a boy. She and her boss, who believed she is a boy, falls in love with each other. And there the conflict starts.
What I Loved
This drama might have a trope that’s been done so many times, but what makes it stand out above the rest is its perfect execution of it.
The romance was fun, sweet, naturally acted, and felt real all throughout. That is largely because of the excellent writing and the exceptional acting of the leads. The plot was solid, and the events were very well connected to form a compelling narrative.
I loved how in love the male lead was that he accepted the fact that the female lead was a “boy”. Actor Gong Yoo, who played the role, was able to successfully convey the emotions needed during those scenes.
I also loved the natural closeness of the leads. They were playful with each other, sometimes at odds, yet often sweet, which all showed the depth of their relationship.
I loved many more things about this swoon-worthy K-Drama, but I won’t touch on them anymore because this post is getting lengthy. Anyhow, just know that if you’re a romance lover, then you shouldn’t miss watching Coffee Prince.
