The older woman-younger man trope in romance is one I like to read.
I guess the reason why I do is that I find the main male characters in this type of book more romantic. They sort of go the extra mile when showing their love for the female main characters and put more effort into the relationship. I’m not sure why that is… Maybe because since they’re younger, they feel they have much more to prove? Regardless, I get more feels when reading this trope.
So for those who also like to read books about older woman-younger man romances, here are a few I’ve read and loved. I hope you find something you’ll like among them.

1. Lessons in Corruption
Mini Summary
Cress is a teacher who has separated from her husband. She meets King, with whom she starts a relationship. She later finds out that King is still 18 and one of her students. Now she’s torn between following the norm or continuing her relationship with King, who she’s starting to fall for.
My Take
Lessons in Corruption by Giana Darling is set in a world of motorcycle gangs, but it isn’t in any way violent or gritty. The motorcycle world just serves as a backdrop for the romance. Also, even if King is just 18, he is quite mature for his age, so the romance is believable. It’s swoon-worthy, too, especially the parts where King was trying to convince Cress to be with him.

2. Jane’s Melody
Mini Summary
40-year-old Jane meets 24-year-old Caleb, a struggling musician, at her daughter’s grave. Suffering over her daughter’s untimely death and seeking answers, Jane befriends Caleb, whom she thought might shed light on the mystery surrounding her daughter’s demise. As the two get to know each other and Jane helps Caleb realize his dreams, they fall in love.
My Take
Jane’s Melody is a heartfelt romance with lovely writing, even pacing, and just the right amount of angst to spice up the story. There are no overly dramatic events and there’s a message it wishes to convey.
It is the first book in a two-book series with the same name written by Ryan Winfield. It’s standalone, but you can read the next book to know more about how Jane and Caleb’s relationship progresses.

3. Old Enough
Mini Summary
Jane is a 40-year-old woman who separated from her husband because he cheated on her. Unhappy and just content, she goes on living her life. Then she meets 19-year-old Brian who makes her feel things again. However, their age gap and other outside forces make the road to their happily ever after a bit bumpy.
My Take
Old Enough is the first book in a two-book series and it’s not a standalone, so you need to read the second book to know the full story.
At any rate, this is a well-written book and a fantastic older woman-younger man romance by Charmaine Pauls. Brian is a swoon-worthy lead, showing his love and care for Jane well. While he was young, he was mature enough since he grew up with lots of responsibilities in his life. He was the perfect man to heal and cherish Jane.

4. On the Island
Mini Summary
Anna is a thirty-year-old English teacher set to tutor 16-year-old T.J. while the latter’s family is vacationing in Maldives. En route, their plane crashes and they get stranded on an uninhabited island. They remained there for months and developed feelings for each other while trying their very best to survive.
My Take
On the Island by Tracey Garvis Graves is a great read. It isn’t only the romance that is lovely, but what happens to these two on the island is riveting. The suspense of knowing how the story unfolds (whether they will survive and what happens to their relationship if they do) would have you flipping the pages.

5. Love Hacked
Mini Summary
In search of Mr. Right, 28-year-old psychotherapist Sandra Fielding goes on dates that usually end up with her date leaving in tears. One date night with a new guy that culminated similarly, she gets up close and personal with Alex, her regular server/waiter at her favorite Indian restaurant. Gorgeous Alex is her longtime crush—and six years (or so) her junior. Though not keen on pursuing a relationship with a younger guy, who on top of that is also harboring some secrets, she finds herself falling for him still.
My Take
Love Hacked is the third book in a series called Knitting in the City, which is about several women who are friends and who share a love for knitting. Each book is a standalone that tells the love story of each lady. Love Hacked is my second favorite.
Written in Penny Reid’s smart and witty prose, it’s one funny and charming read. Sandra is one great character: smart, strong, witty, and funny. Her struggle to find The One is relatable. She’s one of the few female main characters I actually loved. Alex with his intellect, smarts, and loving protectiveness is the perfect partner for her.

6. Legal
Mini Summary
Thirty-something Jillian, who’s been divorced from her husband, meets Chase, who’s 15 (or so) years her junior and a member of a band, in a local music festival. The two hit it off instantly, with that night ending with them making love in a closet. Chase falls hard for Jillian, but the latter has many concerns over it, foremost of which is their age gap.
My Take
This is a great older woman-younger man romance. Author Bree Dahlia weaves a lovely tale of finding love when you least expect it and learning to overcome challenges to embrace that love. Jillian is inexperienced in love and insecure, so she has to learn to manage those to accept Chase’s honest love. Chase is a good boyfriend. Mature and true, his feelings and care for Jillian are wonderful.

7. All Grown Up
Mini Summary
Valentina is a 37-year-old woman who got divorced from her high-school-sweetheart-turned-husband more than a year ago because he cheated on her with a twenty-year-old. Her best friend signed her up on a dating site, against her better judgment, where she meets 25-year-old Ford. Ford later turned out to be her summer place neighbor’s son who used to babysit her own son. The story takes off from there.
My Take
Author Vi Keeland delivers a light romance with All Grown Up. The story is the typical boy meets girl. They get attracted to each other, resist, and then accept. Except that in this case, the problem stems from their age gap. But as it is written by this author, it’s a good, well-written, swoon-worthy read. Swoon-worthy largely because of Ford, who was sweet, caring, and loving to Valentina.

8. Boy Toy
Mini Summary
Sadie is a single mom raising twin toddlers. He meets Liam at the daycare center where she takes her kids. Liam is six years her junior and she used to babysit when he was still a young teenager. Liam used to have a big crush on Sadie back in the day and meeting her again after all these years brings back those old feelings to the surface.
My Take
Boy Toy by Sarina Bowen is a fun, breezy read that would melt your heart. Sadie and Liam’s pairing is cute and perfect. Liam, apart from being smart and handsome, is also great with kids so he was also a great partner for Sadie. When these two came together, it was heart-melting and entertaining. This is one good older woman-younger man romance.

10. Defy
Mini Summary
Melody Greene is a high school teacher, while Jamie Followhill is a senior high school student and her pupil. After one encounter, the two get together, pursuing their attraction to each other. Can their forbidden love survive differences in age and circumstance?
My Take
Defy by L.J. Shen is a novella that is a prequel to the rest of the Sinners of Saint series. It’s a quick read that tells the story of Jamie, one of the privileged boys studying in an exclusive private school in Southern California (the rest of the boys are featured in the rest of the books of the series). Melody and Jamie’s romance is cute, swoon-worthy, and steamy. The book is short, but it’s complete and satisfying with a lovely happy ending.

12. Resisting the Boss
Mini Summary
Claire Gracen is a forty-year-old divorced mother of two teenage girls. She’s been married for more than ten years and she thought she would stay that way for the rest of her life, but then her husband cheated on her with her best friend. Needing a change of scene, she transfers to California. She meets a younger man, Jonathan, who’s attracted to her, but who later turns out to be her boss. Jonathan wants to have a relationship with Claire, but the latter is reluctant.
My Take
Resisting the Boss is the first book in a two-book series called Mid-Life Love and it’s not standalone, so the second book needs to be read in order to get the full story of Claire and Jonathan.
This series is one of the good older woman-younger man stories out there. Written in Whitney G’s witty and smart style, it’s swoon-worthy and entertaining. Jonathan is a wonderful hero who complements Claire and brings that much-needed happiness to her life. He’s an alpha male who takes charge and woos Claire in such a romantic way.

13. The Unidentified Redhead
Mini Summary
Grace Sheridan is a thirty-three-year-old aspiring actress and singer. She returns to Los Angeles to try her hand back at acting. There she meets Jack Hamilton, a twenty-four-year-old British actor, who’s set to be the new “It” star. The two find themselves attracted to each other and start a secret relationship since their careers might be affected if the public would get wind of it.
My Take
The Unidentified Redhead by Alice Clayton is the first book in The Redhead series, which has 3 books in all. It’s a funny, witty, and smart read. It is also sexy, swoon-worthy, and heartwarming. Grace and Jack are some of the funniest couples you’ll come across. Their banter is hilarious and precious. Their relationship is wonderful, with less drama and more lovely moments. This is one of my favorite older woman-younger man books.
