This list contains the K-Drama on Netflix that are swoon-worthy and some of the most popular.
You’re Beautiful
You’re Beautiful is an entertaining gender-bender romance from 2009. Despite being an earlier drama, it still lives up to the current standards.
The story is about a nun who had to pose as her brother who is a member of a popular music band. She had to live and work with the other male band members, two of whom fell in love with her.
It’s a fun drama (girl dressing up and acting as a guy make it that) that managed to be riveting since it also gives us a peek at the music industry and the mechanics of being a popular personality.
As for the romance, it’s somewhat of a slow burn since we don’t get to see the two main leads get together until the latter part of the series. There’s a good build-up of the romantic tension, though, with added angst brought about by a love triangle. There’s a grand gesture near the end and a happy ending for the main couple.

Oh My Venus
Inspiring and heartwarming, Oh My Venus is a romantic comedy done right.
It’s about a pretty girl who gained weight over the years and got dumped by her boyfriend. Suffering from low self-esteem, she seeks the help of a trainer to get herself back in shape. The two fell in love.
It’s funny and romantic, and there are cute, sexy times to keep you smiling.
Rooftop Prince
Rooftop Prince is a time-travel KDrama on Netflix with a mix of both historical and contemporary scenes. The romance is a central theme in the series, though.
It’s about a Joseon prince who, with his men, got transported into the present, specifically at the rooftop house of the female lead. His current predicament may just give him the solution to a past that’s wrought with mystery and intrigue, as well as a new love he never expected.
The romance in this drama is angsty yet sweet. There are villains you would hate and circumstances that would frustrate you. The need to know how everything wraps up would have you glued to your screen, however.
Scent of a Woman
Scent of a Woman is the story of a poor girl suffering from a terrible disease who had a short time to live. Shen then fell in love with a rich guy.
Because there’s an illness in the plot, this drama takes a melancholy turn in the latter half part. Not to worry, though, because it’s inspiring and the romance is good. The leads share an electrifying chemistry that translates into something very romantic on screen. The ending is realistic but still happy.
Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo
A college romance set against the backdrop of sports is what Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo is all about. It shows the struggles college athletes go through in pursuing their passion and falling in love amidst all that.
The romance is cute and sweet. It nails down the giddiness and complexities that come with young first loves. The drama is well-written and the pacing is good, so you’ll find it a joy to watch.

Healer
Healer is a well-made KDrama on Netflix. Apart from the romance, there’s also gripping mystery and exciting action.
The story is about a for-hire courier and an upstart journalist who gets entangled in a dangerous conspiracy and into each other.
The romance is great and had its good share of heart-melting moments. The leads share one of the more expressive relationships in K-Drama land, which is a refreshing thing to see.
The mystery and action were well done as well.
Overall, it’s a fantastic drama that deserves every following it has.
Romance is a Bonus Book
Romance is a Bonus Book is a cozy noona romance (older woman – younger man). Noona is the term used by men in Korea to address women older than them.
If you need something comforting to watch that would take away your stress, then this is the drama for you. It’s like a warm drink on a cold winter day or a cold beverage on a hot summer afternoon. It’s visually pleasing, unhurried in pace, and has a soothing soundtrack all throughout.
The romance happens between two longtime friends. The guy who has been in love with the female lead for years gets another chance to finally get her after he missed that first opportunity years ago. There’s also a funny second couple to provide comedy.
This drama isn’t simply about romance, however. It’s also an inspiring tale about landing a second lease on life and getting back on one’s feet after falling rock bottom.
Pasta
Pasta takes a look at the inner workings of being a kitchen chef and the many experiences that go with the job. That alone would make you continue watching episode after episode since it’s an intriguing, entertaining, visually appealing, and… well, tasty topic.
The romance somewhat takes a backseat but still manages to be lovely. The acting of the two main leads is natural, which makes the romance captivating.
Mask
Mask is somewhat of an over-the-top KDrama on Netflix. There are doppelgängers, switched identities, revenge plots, and scenarios that need you to suspend disbelief. If you’re a fan of dramas like these, then you might find it enjoyable.
I was mostly there for the romance between the two leads, though, which I found sweet and cute. Their pairing started from an arranged marriage but eventually turned into love. The road to happily ever after was, however, sweet and cute, even if occasionally saddled with devastating secrets and hateful villains.
Secret Love Affair
I saved the best for last with Secret Love Affair. Well, maybe not everyone’s “best”, but definitely my favorite among the lot.
Secret Love Affair is pretty much what the title suggests: there’s a love affair and it’s a secret. Not secret for a long time, though, but that’s neither here nor there since the story is really all about a beautiful love shared by two people who are different in so many ways—age, social status, stature—yet alike and compatible in other things that they fell into passionate love.
Suffice it to say that this drama does not only have a passionate pairing but is also beautifully made. Our couple shared great chemistry and conveyed a palpable romantic tension from the start. The cinematography is good, the music is outstanding, and the acting is fantastic. It’s one of the best swoon-worthy K-Dramas out there, to sum it up.
We hope you find your next favorite KDrama on Netflix on this list! Happy watching!

Never was a fan of Korean drama until I saw a few over the weekend. They weren’t even full movies, just recaps from a summary channel, however, they were enough to get me hooked.
Looking forward to watching these.

I used to be the same, too, since I’m more drawn to books. But then I discovered Asian dramas, and… the rest is history, heh 🙂
