I’m sharing another round of the best K-dramas I’ve watched. They are the swoon-worthy kind. So if you’re looking for your next watch, then check these out.
The K-Dramas in this list range from romantic comedy to melodrama. All have happy endings. We hope you find something that fits your taste.
Bride of the Century
Bride of the Century combines fantasy (some ghost stories), mystery, and romance.
The story centers around Doo Rim, a poor girl from out of town, and Kang Joo, an heir to a large business empire whose family is believed to be cursed. Doo Rim looks exactly like Kang Joo’s fiancée, Yi Kyung. When Yi Kyung suddenly disappeared, Doo Rim was persuaded to pretend to be her, including posing as Kang Joo’s fiancée, without Kang Joo knowing the better. Amidst this deception, said family curse with ghost stories on the side, and family members plotting evil deeds, the two fell in love.
The mystery and ghost story didn’t have much leg to stand on, so what started as engaging just fell flat in the end. But the romance between Doo Rim and Kang Joo will keep you going. As they share such good chemistry, their love story is sweet and heartfelt.
What makes the show more riveting is the portrayal by the same actress of both the characters of Doo Rim and Yi Kyung. She did justice to both that you can easily tell who is who.
Flower Boy Ramen Shop
Flower Boy Ramen Shop is a romantic comedy.
When Eun Bi and Chi Soo met, there was an attraction between them. She thought he was her age or thereabouts. So it was a big shock to find out later that he was still in high school and one of her students. Trying to avoid him is, however, not possible, him being in her class and them later running a ramen shop.
This drama is light and hilarious. It’s the kind you pick if you want a few hours of mindless watching. The romance follows the rich guy-poor girl trope mixed with the older woman-younger man theme. It is fun, with no angst.
A word of caution: while the word “ramen” appears in the title, the show does not delve deep (or at all) into the complicated endeavor of making ramen. The “ramen” part merely stands as a backdrop for the romance and friendship to play.
Heart to Heart
Heart to Heart is a romantic comedy with melodrama that also touches on the subject of social phobia and its effects.
Hong Do suffers from social phobia. She also blushes extremely. She’s, more or less, a recluse, who goes out only for necessities and to her job, where she disguises herself as an old lady. She then meets two men who will help her come out of her shell.
There are family secrets, past mistakes, and traumas from long ago that make this show a melodrama in some parts. It is well done and doesn’t suffer from defects.
The romance, on the other hand, is solid, honest, and heartfelt. It’s even more excellently done. Not a surprise since the writer is the same one who gave us another best KDrama, Coffee Prince.
So, all in all, don’t miss this best KDrama.
The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry
The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry is a story of three friends who are all career women and who find it challenging to find love. Despite being past the bloom of youth, they still want to find that true love that has eluded them for so long.
The title holder is Shin Young, who after missing the marriage train a few years back because she got dumped by her former boyfriend who didn’t want to wait for her to finish a work stint abroad, gets attracted to a man 10 years her junior. As is most often the case in relationships such as this, challenges arise, the foremost of which is overcoming her preconceived notions on the matter.
The romance is cute and swoony. You’ll swoon as you watch Min Jae (played by Kim Bum, one of the boys from Boys Over Flowers) woe Shin Young.
So I Married an Anti-Fan
Joon, a famous singer, and Geun Young, a reporter, managed to annoy each other the first time they met. An altercation between them got publicized causing people to dub Geun Young as Joon’s anti-fan. Finding herself without a job later, Geun Young was forced to accept an offer to star in a reality TV show with her enemy Joon. Their bickering on the set soon turned into love.
This enemies-to-lovers drama is funny, cute, and easy to watch overall. It’s a romantic comedy through and through, with just a tiny bit of melo on the side. Just a tiny bit. You’ll have a stress-free and fun time watching this.

My Secret Romance
Yoo Mi and Jin Wook met three years ago, connected, and shared a one night of passion. They haven’t forgotten each other since. Now they meet again when Yoo Mi gets hired as a nutritionist for Jin Wook’s company. Old feelings then start surfacing and developing into more.
This drama focuses mainly on the romance between the two which is a breath of fresh air in a sea of dramas that juggle a lot of tropes or topics. It’s light, cute and fluffy. Jin Wook falling in love with Yoo Mi and getting so worked up in pleasing her is a joy to watch.
Protect the Boss
Protect the Boss follows the usual rich guy-poor girl trope common in K-dramas, but funnier and with better writing.
It’s the story of Eun Seol who lands a job as a secretary at a big firm. Her less-than-perfect boss needs her help to become better in the field and in the process ends up falling in love with her.
Eun Seol is not your usual frail K-Drama female lead. She’s independent and strong, making her the perfect secretary who proves she’s up to the task of protecting her boss. She’s also reluctant to fall in love, which is another departure from the common practice. The romance is great and ends with a lovely proposal at the end.
My Lovely Sam Soon
Sam Soon is a baker who met Jin Heon, a restaurant owner, when he witnessed her getting dumped by her boyfriend. Sam Soon later finds herself working for Jin Heon and getting toe to toe with him most of the time. These two who are the exact opposites in many ways soon find themselves falling in love.
Sam Soon is a feisty character that is well complemented by Jin Heon’s complex one. Their romance is real and honest.
My Lovely Sam Soon is an older best KDrama, but the issues raised are still relevant today. Sam Soon who struggles to find true love without losing her unique identity is real and relatable even at present.
High-End Crush
If you need a quick romance fix, one that takes only a few hours (around 5 hours, that is) to finish, then the best KDrama High End Crush is the way to go.
High End Crush is one of the best KDrama web series I’ve watched. It puts a spin on the common rich guy-poor girl romance. Instead of the rich guy getting all in denial of his feelings, here the main male lead embraces and acts on them. His antics in going after the girl are funny and swoon-worthy.
The pair couldn’t be any more different: he, an entertainment executive; she, kind of a recluse living all alone in the mountains. He falls in love with her at first sight (a swoon-worthy scene) and pursues her with great fervor that melts your heart.
It’s a well-made, hilarious, and fluffy drama that delivers the swoon it’s supposed to provide. The talented side characters provide laughs and round up the delightful cast to make this series an entertaining romp.
High School King
Saving his older brother from a pickle the latter found himself into, senior high schooler Min Suk finds himself posing as a company executive. There he meets contractual employee Soo Young, who he finds himself falling in love with. Problems arise, of course, as, except for two, his co-workers don’t know he’s only impersonating his older brother.
This sweet drama is one of K-Drama’s hidden gems. It has a well-written and tight plot and an even pacing. It is also smart, funny, and uniquely upbeat. The romance is heartfelt and heartwarming. The main leads bring their A-game to the screen with their fantastic acting. Especially Seo In Guk (Min Suk) whose portrayal of a younger man so in love with an older woman is moving.
